Re-Editing Blog

I reviewed all the audio in the movie with my group.  We were able to see which audio needed to be increased. Only two scenes needed to be increased.  The ransom scene and the clues scene are the only audio needing to be found.

I had to reduce the background noise.  When that happened, the wind in the video was heard only a little bit.  I raised the audio to the highest level it can be. The audio now seems a bit more clearer than before.

There are a few scenes that are missing from the video. Some of those scenes are the victim's friends talking about the situation. It will be edited later once the scenes are filmed next week. The scenes will be added in-between the scenes that are already edited.

Today my group and I reviewed the camera techniques we need to put in the scenes we're filming. The group that reviewed us said we needed a close-up, medium shot, high angle, low angle, shot reverse shot, eye-line match, action match, and non-diegetic sound in editing.  My group and I reviewed our video after looking at the camera techniques. Some of the techniques the other group said we need are in the video, so my group and I are focusing on certain ones.

There is a change in script for the scenes needed to be filmed.  A few more lines are added to some scenes. Also, a scene got added into the script making it three scenes in total needing to be filmed. The script change is not anything major that will drastically change the movie, it will instead enhance the movie.

Reshoot Blog

My group and I didn't do any reshoots. When we got our peer-review paper,  it said the only thing we needed to fix was audio. The person who peer-reviewed my video said the dialogue was hard to hear. I can try increasing the sound of the dialogue. If it doesn't help, I will have my actresses do voiceovers. The only hard part about doing the voiceover is getting the sound to sync correctly with the video.  It's hard to film a video where dialogue is the main part and have people voiceover scenes accurately enough where people can't even tell.  It will be a great challenge for me to fix the dialogue audio. Hopefully, I can fix it so that the movie still turns out great.

I planned to film the few scenes I have left with my actresses next Tuesday. That gives me and my group members enough time to get our props together. I will also be working on the audio and the title sequences during this time. I want to add some cool green screens to the title sequences just before the establishing shot. Luckily pushing back the filming schedule doesn't interfere with the entire schedule. Between 2-5 scenes are left to film. My group and I can finish filming the rest of the scenes in one day. The movie will be done way ahead of the due date. The movie is due sometime in April. The movie should be done with filming and editing by the end of March. Having the movie done early gives me enough time to edit the movie professionally.

Peer Review

I did peer reviews recently. I reviewed a girl's video. Her video was only 22 seconds long. There wasn't much I could say about the video. It was too short for me to give enough comments. What I did like about the video is the natural lighting that was used. Also how the video so far seemed natural. She used lighting that fit the scene which is great. The acting didn't seem too forced.  The camera angles got the best shots of the scenes.

What she needs to do to make her movie better is to first finish it. She needs to have at least 1:50 done. She needs some background music at the beginning of her video so there isn't just silence. Dialogue needs to be in the video. There should be some dialogue in the movie so that it's not boring. The titles in the movie should be fixed and more should be added. Not all of the titles that are supposed to be in the movie are there. Also, the ones that are in there are not all in the right order.  Overall the movie needs to be finished. If the movie was finished maybe the only things that would need to be fixed are the titles.
